I believe art is not about telling you what to believe, but trying to figure things out. In this painting I imagine the banner of painting as the sail of a ship, painted but also a window into a different image. The lamb which I lifted from Caravaggio's John the Baptist represents sacrifice, a concept we in the USA might find alien but which those who oppose us are increasingly discovering.

C.S. Lewis famously traces his early realization of what he wanted his art to do to his attraction to colder northern myth stories, and this is an exploration in that direction to see what happens.
